Easy Access Gun Storage while Sleeping

So, you’re thinking about getting a home protection gun. That’s a good move! You want to make sure you have easy access gun storage while sleeping. But once you get your firearm, where the heck do you put it while you sleep?

Near Your Bed:

Well, the first option is to keep it near your bed. That way, if someone breaks in while you’re sleeping, you can quickly grab your gun and go all John Wick on their butts. However, you need to make sure that your gun is in a safe and secure location, out of reach of children and other unauthorized people. We definitely don’t want any little kids thinking they found a toy gun and accidentally shooting their eye out, Ralphie-style.

Now, some people who are feeling extra macho and don’t mind risking a bullet to the face, keep their gun under their pillow. That way, they can literally sleep with one eye open. However, this option is not recommended. You don’t want your significant other to roll over and accidentally grab your gun instead of your cuddly self!

In all seriousness though, I do not recommend keeping your gun in your bed!

Another option, if you don’t have children in the home, is the Stinger Bedside Holster (See our Products That Rock tab). This holster setup is positioned between the mattress and box springs and allows the handgun to placed in a pouch beside the bed.

Biometric Safes

If you want to be fancy and feel like James Bond, you could store your gun in a biometric safe. This will require using your fingerprint to unlock the safe, so only authorized people can access your firearm. It’s like having a secret agent lair right in your bedroom! However, you’ll need to make sure the safe is reliable and durable, or you might end up with a gun that’s more like Inspector Gadget’s than 007’s. This is a much better option if you have children. I would recommending securing the safe to a steadfast piece of furniture to avoid it growing legs and walking away.

For those who like to live on the edge and want to be able to load their gun quickly, you can opt for a quick access safe. These safes have combination or biometric locks that allow you to get your gun out fast. Just don’t forget the combination or you’ll be fumbling around like a clumsy spy trying to remember the secret code.

Concealed Safe

Finally, for those who want to get extra creative, you could hide your gun in a concealed location like a wall safe or a hollowed-out book. It’s like playing a game of hide-and-seek with your firearm! Just make sure you choose a location that’s easy to access and not too obvious, or you might forget where you put it in case of an emergency.

Easy Access Gun Storage While Sleeping:

All jokes aside, gun safety is no laughing matter. It’s essential to store your firearm in a secure location and follow best practices for gun safety. Make sure it’s unloaded when not in use, treat it as if it’s loaded at all times, and always store it in a secure location out of reach of children and unauthorized individuals.

Some food for thought….. ever had dream so real that you woke only to realize a few minutes later that it was a dream? Think about if that dream was someone breaking in, attacking you, attacking your loved ones, or any situation that would get you into fight mode. How horrible would it be if you grabbed your gun in that mental state and fired it? My point here is simple; have some system in place that makes you have a cognitive thought about the process to unsecure your gun. This step will give yourself enough time to get fully awake before grabbing the gun and pulling the trigger.

By taking the time to carefully evaluate your options and follow gun safety best practices, you can be prepared to protect yourself and your loved ones in case of an emergency. Having easy access gun storage while sleeping will help you do just that. So, sleep tight, and don’t let the bad guys bite!
